SWARTZ CREEK – The Swartz Creek Area Chamber of Commerce has begun preparations for the annual Starz awards luncheon in June.
The chamber’s Starz committee has selected “Where Town and Country Meet” as this year’s theme.
As always, the chamber will reach out to the community to nominate honorees for the six awards. So, put on your thinking caps and let the chamber know who deserves any of the following recognition:
The Swartz Creek Kiwanis/Sue Taylor Award for an individual who has given the most of themselves to the community, schools and/or area businesses or service organizations.
The Star Business of the Year for a business that has gone above and beyond to promote growth, prosperity and camaraderie in the Swartz Creek area.
The Hometown Hero for a police officer, firefighter, EMT, public servant, elected official or someone held in high esteem as an example for the people of the community.
The Children’s Champion for an individual who goes above and beyond for the children of the community.
The Lifetime Service Award for a wellknown name in the community, someone who throws his or her hat in often and, for years, who always says, “Yes,” when the community is in need.
Member of the Year for a chamber member that has contributed above and beyond.
The event serves as a fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting an area charity. The recipient is yet to be determined.
Anyone interested in donating goods for the silent auction should contact the chamber office at 810-733-8882 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
